FAQ

In general, the hiking terrain is rather easy and not rough.  Proper walking shoes is, however, important.  The only rough hike is the walk to the Blombos Cave.  The terrain is rocky, sandy and tiring.  So besides having proper hiking shoes, participants should be fit and used to hiking.

Participants must provide their own transportation.  Your guide will supply his own vehicle (and can transport 3 people), but own transport is required.  Most roads are tarred, but for the Blombos excursion, gravel and farm roads are used.

Private holiday homes are used for accommodation.  All bedding is supplied, but no towels.  Bathrooms must be shared.  Some single rooms are available.  The houses have fully equipped kitchens with a fridge.  You also have the option of using your own accommodation.

You can either take the self-catering option, where you supply all your own food, or you can book our fully-catered option, where we supply all meals, including lunch packs (with snacks) for the day excursions.  We can cater for special dietary needs, like gluten free, vegan and pescatarian (which comes at an additional fee).
